Mommy is a liar.

So lately I have noticed how many obnoxious things I tell my 2 year old to get him to do what I want him to. It makes me realize how much my parents have probably lied to me when I was little.
What do I tell my child you ask. Well lets see.
Every day around 1:30 when it is nap time I tell him  “If you do not take a nap daddy won’t come home from work.” “They don’t let daddy leave untill you have taken a nap”
The other day he bit his tongue and wouldn’t eat his dinner so I told him “Applesauce will make your mouth feel better”
Got a stinky child who gets a scratch try this “Oh a bath will make that all better.”
Some of my other magic words.
“We can’t turn the inside lights of the car on because we are going to fast.”
“The sun is still night night so you need to get back to bed”
“If you are ever going to be super man you need to eat all your chicken”

Do you ever tell your kids things like this? Or is it just me that is lying to her kids.

  1. Lol this is such a funny post but so true at the same time. I think it just makes it a little easier to tell a small lie. It can't hurt right? Because as you said I'm sure our parents did it to us, and we turned out pretty awesome!

  4. OMG I shudder to think of all the little white fiblets I have told my children over the years. Its even worse when they start catching you. My son was about 10 when he finally slipped up about the tooth fairy, I was like wow how long have you know, he said since he was about 6 but he didn't want to hurt my feelings, kids lol. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  5. My son is only 7 months old, but I can only imagine the little white lies I will come up with to get him to do things when he is older.
Stopping by from the mommy mixer and looking forward to following your posts!
