I love making my little guys bow ties. They are a quick and easy way to dress up their outfits, or cute photo props and make them look like I put them in different suits every Sunday. You can choose any fabric you like to give you lots of options!

Halloween fabric flowers.

I have been wanting to do this craft for months now. I think I found it back in February and I wanted to do it then, I even bought valentines fabric for it. I never got around to it. But then this miracle happened on Saturday, my husband took my kids out for the morning so I could do whatever I wanted. And what I wanted to do was make some fabric flowers for Halloween. Luckily I had  some fabric on hand so I didn’t have to go buy any. That made this project FREE! I love free.

Tutorial: How to make a fabric placemat

So recently we bought Dexter some placemats that were made out of laminateish material and were just not good quality. Frankly they were pieces of crap. When I tried to wash them by hand in the sink they would get water on the inside. after about 4 times of use it fell apart. So I decided to just make my own. I was not about to spend $10 on 4 kid fabric ones. Plus this way I got to choose the fabrics myself!

Cloud dough tutorial

The other day me and Dexter decided to do something totally new. Well I decided and he just did it because he is two. We made some cloud dough. To me it felt more like cookie dough but not sticky. It was really easy to make and he LOVED it. In fact we saved ours and he has been asking to play with it every day since then.

Tutorial: How to make a cardboard train.

Man being a mom makes you talk about strange things. I hope there is at least one other person in the world who has wondered how to make a cardboard train. hehe. The reason I made a card board train was for Dexter’s second birthday party. I wanted to have something him and his friend could really just be crazy with. And this worked! At one point my husband and sister pushed them around the house, and they thought it was awesome!

Pennant banner tutorial!

For Dexter’s second birthday I really wanted to make him a pennant banner. I looked on pintrest and on Google but could only find one! It wasn’t exactly what I wanted and used way more fabric than I needed. But here is that tutorial. So I just looked at some pictures of them and decided that I could do it all on my own! I am venturing out like crazy now, sewing triangles onto bias tape without any instructions. Haha
Well just incase anyone else needs some help getting started here is what I did.

With motherhood comes craftiness

And I don’t just mean the kind where I pure chicken and give it to dexter with his other food.
Lately I have been working hard on getting our office to look more like an in home “studio” for our diaper business. I was tired of being embarrassed by the junk and clutter in the office and always having to apologize. So one day I went to Wal-Mart found a nice shade of teal in the “oops” section and got to work! I also decided to paint a chandelier we had got with the house that was ugly as some of the messes that Dexter makes in his diapers. I have seen countless number of these chandeliers out by the curbs, now I wish I had picked them up! A fresh coat of paint really makes a difference!  Here are some pictures of the office after:

I also found the time to make over Dexters less than admirable bookcase. Here that is.

I just added some fabric behind the shelves by stapling it onto the backing. I think it really helped! I bet right about now you are asking yourself “how does she find time to do all this and keep her house clean?”  I guess that will have to be my secret and I will never post pictures of my house.. hehehe
So onto the important now that you have read how great and wonderful my crafting has been lately.
Dexter is a walker. Well almost, he gets going real good then falls and remembers he knows how to crawl a lot faster and does that. But he can stand up with out holding onto anything and he can turn around. He walks like a dinosaur, but it is a very cute dinosaur. A Dexterasaurs. He has also learned how to climb. This was what I was afraid of. He likes to climb on the shelves in the office (after he has thrown everything off first of course!) and the coffee table. He has not fallen of anything, well he fell of my bed the other day but it was like this slow motion fall and then he just cried because he was scared so it doesn’t count. I am so not ready for the bumps and bruises that come along with a toddler!
