Halloween fabric flowers.

213
I have been wanting to do this craft for months now. I think I found it back in February and I wanted to do it then, I even bought valentines fabric for it. I never got around to it. But then this miracle happened on Saturday, my husband took my kids out for the morning so I could do whatever I wanted. And what I wanted to do was make some fabric flowers for Halloween. Luckily I had  some fabric on hand so I didn’t have to go buy any. That made this project FREE! I love free.

Working out 2 months 1 week

I finally got back on track this week! I managed to go to the gym almost everyday or go for a walk with my kids. I even got the energy to go to a cycling class one day this week! I have not been to one since before I got pregnant with Max and can I just say it kicked my butt. I defiantly want to try to go to at least two a week. Well other than that nothing else new really. I lost 1 more lb. I wish I could lose more I feel like I am broken! Also this week I wanted to do something new and spotlight a new recipe I tried, that was healthier.
This week we tried Cajun turkey burgers. They were probably the best turkey burgers I have ever made. They were really easy to.   Here is the recipe
Lowfat Cajun Turkey Burgers

Ingredients:

2 lb. Butterball - Everyday - Fresh Ground Turkey All Natural
1 tsp seasoning salt
1/2 cup(s) soft bread crumbs
1 envelope Lipton - Recipe Secrets - Onion Soup Mix
1 large egg
1/2 tsp. Tony Chachere's - Original Creole Seasoning

Cooking instructions:
Mix turkey, bread crumbs, seasoning salt, onion soup mix, egg, and seasoning in bowl.

Form into 8 patties and place on broiler rack and broil until brown, then flip burgers over to cook other side OR grill to perfection!

I hope you enjoy!

College Football

Dear Paul Johnson (Georgia Tech Football Head Coach),
I am sorely disappointed with the repeated failures. Stop letting the team give up in the 4th quarter. That makes 2 losses to ACC teams this season in overtime when we should have won in the 4th quarter. We won't contend for the ACC title, we'll probably lose in some minor bowl game. If we lose to UGA again this year, I am sending back my diploma, and finding another team to cheer for.

Me myself and I

1. When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
Bake, or vent to my husband. He loves hearing about all my insane problems hehe.

2. If you had to live in a different time period which would you prefer?
Maybe the 80's I am not to sure. Just as long as there is air conditioning.

3. What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
I really liked my costume last year. But my favorite costume ever was the one Brittany made for Dexter his first Halloween when he was a glow worm!

4. Five weird things about you we wouldn't know without being told?
1) I like to have dance parties with Dexter, often.
2) I watch/ read sad stories often just to cry.
3) I am addicted to Chipotle.
4) I  have had the same best friend since I was in 8th grade.

5)I don't let Dexter watch TV for more than 30 minutes a day.

5. What would you tell your 16-year-old self?
Boys are overrated, wait till you meet the guy you call your husband and man are you lucky!
Stop fighting with Megan over the small stuff.
Enjoy late nights with Kelly singing as loud as you can in the car.
You are not fat, wait till you see what you look like after having two kids and just enjoy those size 5  jeans!!!

Things you take for granted before you have kids.

Let me preface this by saying I love my boys more than anything in the world. I would not change my crazy life with them for anything! But before I had them I have to say there are quite a few things that i took for granted.

Here are some of my top things I wish I could go back in time and savor.

Working out 2 months

Okay so I have missed the past two weeks but really nothing to update anyone on. I have now been working out for two months, and I have only lost 6 pounds. I am really tired of going to the gym. I need some good motivation! Anyone got some? I also need a work out buddy, that would make the gym so much more fun.
This week I stopped trying to not drink soda. It is my weakness, my kids drive me crazy and I need it. haha. I have been thinking about joining weight watchers but I really am not sure I have time to count points on everything!Any one out there ever do it with two small kids? Is it easy to keep up with?

Old Man Music!?

Megan told me something that was deeply offensive the other day; she said I listen to "old man music!"

Specifically, she was talking about bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, and Van Halen. I realize classic rock would not be called "classic" if it were new, and some of the music is 50 years old, but I was offended that she did not acknowledge them as timeless legends. After calming down 2 days later, call it whatever you want, but it is the best music of all time!

FYI: I do like newer music too. Alexisonfire and Thrice are probably my 2 favorite bands.

Wordless Wednesday

Okay so I can not be wordless, but I can use less words. Does that count? hehe
So if you have not heard the song Ronan by Taylor Swift I suggest you go buy it on Itunes, right now.Make sure you have a box of tissues on hand. Then after you listen to it go hold your kids, and if you are feeling particularly brave, go read the woman's blog who helped write the song and inspired it. The song has made me seriously stop and just reflect on my babies and how much I love them. So most of my words are done. Here is this now.
One day he will tell me "I do it myself mama"

One day he will not wake up from his nap and walk around the house looking like this.

Tutorial: How to make a fabric placemat

058
So recently we bought Dexter some placemats that were made out of laminateish material and were just not good quality. Frankly they were pieces of crap. When I tried to wash them by hand in the sink they would get water on the inside. after about 4 times of use it fell apart. So I decided to just make my own. I was not about to spend $10 on 4 kid fabric ones. Plus this way I got to choose the fabrics myself!

Cloud dough tutorial

The other day me and Dexter decided to do something totally new. Well I decided and he just did it because he is two. We made some cloud dough. To me it felt more like cookie dough but not sticky. It was really easy to make and he LOVED it. In fact we saved ours and he has been asking to play with it every day since then.
Here is how you make it.

Mommy is a liar.

So lately I have noticed how many obnoxious things I tell my 2 year old to get him to do what I want him to. It makes me realize how much my parents have probably lied to me when I was little.

Tutorial: How to make a cardboard train.

170
Man being a mom makes you talk about strange things. I hope there is at least one other person in the world who has wondered how to make a cardboard train. hehe. The reason I made a card board train was for Dexter’s second birthday party. I wanted to have something him and his friend could really just be crazy with. And this worked! At one point my husband and sister pushed them around the house, and they thought it was awesome!
So here is how you make one.
After the jump.
